In his dream world, Eric Lowenbach is perched high in a fire lookout in the San Gabriel Mountains, with Cooper his trusty Dalmatian curled up at his side, clouds gathering, coffee brewing, and camera at the ready. Only it wasn’t a dream: Working for the Forest Service at Vetter Mountain Fire Lookout was the reality that led Eric to fall in love with the lens and the light of the California landscape. In 2005, he picked up a camera for the first time in many years, loaded Cooper in his truck and began exploring. Striking out in the forested mountains above his Pasadena home, Eric began to record what he saw and with each passing year has continued to do so, yet with more precision, discernment and honesty.  Today, Eric lives in a 140 year old adobe home -- ancient by California standards -- with his four dogs and lovely wife Stephanie.
